We’ve been working on creating an awesome new banner to display at cons. It’ll be really big and shiny when it’s printed! This is one of our prelim sketches and the background color palette I’ll be using.

-Ann

Ingredients:

-1 Box Chewy Brownie Mix
-2 1/2 Cups Confectioners Sugar
-1/2 Cup Butter (1 Stick) Softened
-2 1/2 Tablespoons Milk
-1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
-Red Food Coloring Paste
-6oz White Chocolate
-Assorted Candies

Supplies:

-12 Inch Pizza Pan
-Large Bowl
-Knife
-Mixing Spoons
-Spatula (or a second Knife)
-Grater

Instructions:

1. Prepare the chewy brownie mix according the instructions on the packaging (you may also make the brownies from scratch using any recipe you may have to do so) but instead of pouring the batter into a square baking pan pour it into the 12 inch pizza pan.

2. Preheat and bake in the oven again according to the instructions on the box or the recipe you’re using. Then allow then to cool for 20 to 30 minutes or until you can insert a knife into the center of the brownies and have it come out clean.

3. In the large bowl mix together the 2/12 Cups confectioners sugar and the 1/2 cup (1 stick) of softened butter until it becomes creamy.

4. Into the same bowl add the 2 1/2 tablespoons of milk and the 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix it until everything is fully combined.

5. Add 1/2 to 1 full teaspoon of the red food coloring paste to the mixture and combine until the contents turn red and creamy. How red you make it is up to you but it should make your frosting look like the red tomato sauce on a pizza.

6. Using the spatula (or a butter knife) spread out the “sauce” mixture evenly over the top of your cooled “pizza”

7. With the assistance of a parent or a guardian roughly chop or grate the white chocolate. Sprinkle the chocolate evenly over the red sauce, this will be the “cheese” for your pizza!

8. Take any sort of candy, nuts or fruit you like the best and sprinkle it over the top of the white chocolate.

9. With the assistance of a parent or guardian slice the “pizza” into triangle shaped pieces.

10. Eat and Enjoy!

Notes:

-Cover any uneaten brownies with saran wrap or relocate them to an airtight container to keep the fresh longer!

Ingredients:

-1/2 Cup Bulk Popcorn Kernels
-Food Coloring (Color of your choice)
-Salt (Optional)
-1 Pat of Butter (Optional)

Supplies:

-Brown Paper Bag
-Serving Bowl

Instructions:

1. Place the 1/2 cup of popcorn kernels into the brown paper bag.

2. Pour the food coloring into the bag onto the kernels and shake the bag so they all become coated. Add as much of the food coloring as you like keeping in mind that the more you add the more colorful your popcorn will be.

3. Fold over the paper bag and place it into the microwave. Do NOT staple the bag or use paper clips to keep it closed. That might cause a spark that could lead to the bag catching fire.

4. Microwave on high. You may use the microwave’s popcorn setting or set it for 3 minutes. Don’t go far you need to keep an ear on the popcorn. Once the popping slows to one or two pops per second stop the microwave even if the timer has not gone off. You don’t want your popcorn to over cook and burn.

5. Carefully open the bag (there might be steam which is hot so don’t put the bag directly next to your face) and pour the colorful popcorn into the serving bowl. You can eat it just as it is plain or you can move on to the next step to flavor your popcorn.

6. For the classic popcorn flavor simply sprinkle the popcorn with salt and add the pat of butter and shake it up so that it gets evenly coated on the popcorn.

7. Eat and Enjoy!

Notes:
-Popcorn is generally best tasting when it’s fresh however you may store any uneaten popcorn in an airtight container to keep it fresh.
-Not into the classic flavor? Try experimenting with other flavors (cheese, garlic powder, hot sauce to name a few) and find one that appeals to you the most!
